Explore one of the Rideau Canal's most peaceful paddling routes as we journey through calm, protected waters between Lower Brewers and Upper Brewers Locks. Winding shorelines, quiet bays, and small islands provide important habitat for turtles, waterfowl, herons, osprey, and other wildlife. We'll paddle at an easy pace, taking time to observe the natural world while learning about the unique ecosystems that make this UNESCO World Heritage waterway such a special place to explore.
Itinerary
9-9:30am: Check in, weather/safety briefing, basic skills overview
9:30-11:00am: Slow paddle as a group until we approach Upper Brewers Lock and circle back around a couple of small islands as we return.

Note: Must be able to swim. Must wear a PFD and leash. Must sign a waiver. Minimum age is 16. All minors must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian. Guides are Paddle Canada certified Flatwater 1 Instructors and are CPR/First Aid certified with Canadian Red Cross.
